... Suddenly all is back to normal?
Our policy during the last 23 months has been "Health and Safety first". Our current policy remains the same but we have added, "tread softly, be vigilant and do not get carried away".
We have though decided to open the doors and windows of our clubroom for a celebratory

Saturday, 5 March 2022 - from 9 - 12 am
We invite our members and especially our new members who have never seen our clubroom to join us for coffee or tea with croissants, or you might even prefer a Prosecco with some nibbles. The clubroom will be cleaned and disinfected prior to the event. It is not necessary to register! Coffee contribution is Fr. 3. --. Larger donations are more than welcome - THANK YOU!
We also have a nice selection of books and Paula, our secretary, will be sending out a list with the titles
We are currently negotiating with a few restaurants regarding a celebratory dinner in March. You will receive a separate communication.

04 March 2022, Friday, 6:15pm - English Film Club - "Sorry we missed you" - Ken Loach
05 March 2022, Saturday, 9 - 12 am - Clubroom - Grand opening - "Coffee Morning".
08 March 2022, Tuesday, 9:48am - 10000 steps - Celebration walk from Orselina to Contra down to Mondacce and back to Locarno. We will take the Bus B4 at Locarno station at 09:48 to the church in Orselina. We arrive at the church in Orselina at 10:04. From Contra down the hill to Mondacce there are some steep steps so you might want to bring your walking sticks. Good walking shoes are necessary. The walk is approx. 90 minutes. We will only walk if it does not rain! After the walk we will stop in Locarno for refreshments! Registration is not necessary!
23 March 2022, Wednesday evening - Celebration Dinner - venue to be advised by separate communication.
31 March 2022, Thursday, 6pm, Hotel La Palma au Lac, Muralto. Lecture by Professor Louise Harra, Director of the Physikalisch-Meteorologisches Observatorium Davos (PMOD)/ World Radiation Center (WRC) and Affiliate Professor at ETH, Zürich. After the lecture we will enjoy a few drinks and nibbles. Contribution for the aperitif is Fr. 10. -- per member.
And last but not least! We are working on the membership list, which will include names, phone numbers and emails. We apologize for the delay, which is due to our multiple attempts to contact members to ensure they still want to remain part of our club. Those who have not replied or paid will now be taken off the list. We are sorry to see these members go and we thank them for being members in the past. I would like to thank Anne Lipton, our treasurer and Paula Merlini, for their work on this particular task!
