The Wine Series, Part 2 with Lisa Bruggink Weis

Presentation by our member Lisa Bruggink Weis in the Clubroom

A full-time resident of Ticino (Gerra Gambarogno) since 2002, Lisa is originally from the US where she served as a Captain in the US Army for 7 years after university followed by a career in the wine business working for Robert Mondavi Winery in Sales & Education.  Today she continues her ties in the international wine trade, is a member of the Society of Wine Educators and holds certifications from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).  She and her husband Frits are both members of the Anglo-Swiss Club.

Lisa's first presentation on sparkling wines was extremely well received. And we now move from sparkling wines to 'still' wines from a region very close to home...the beautiful Piemonte. This special presentation will provide an overview of the unique location, terroir and climate of Piemonte and the varietals which have brought world-wide fame to this wine-growing region. We will begin our degustation with a discussion and tasting of the refreshing white wine Roero Arneis, followed by the three iconic red wines from the region: Barbera, Barbaresco and Barolo. To finish up, we have a nice sweet surprise for your palates...
