Botanical Garden of San Grato

guided tour
Date: Tuesday, 09 May 2017

On Tuesday May 9th we will meet for our outing to the Botanical Garden of San Grato in Carona, a captivating village located at the foot of Monte San Salvatore. The Botanical Garden is set in a unique natural environment, and offers an exceptional panoramic view of Lake Lugano, its surroundings and the peaks of the Alpine chain. We’ll be entering an enchanted world of colours and scents of azaleas, camellias and rhododendrons.

The meeting point for the participants will be at the parking lot of Carona’s Public Swimming Pool at 10:00 a.m. This is a very large swimming pool and you can’t miss it if you follow the main road, driving through the village until you reach the swimming pool. Then we’ll follow the well-marked signs direction Parco San Grato on foot (10 min. walking) until we reach the entrance of the park. An English-speaking guide, who will be waiting at the Information Board, will take us on this lovely excursion which will last about an hour and half. A restaurant will be booked and the detailed information will follow later.
