Since antiquity, visionary artists, musicians and poets have influenced and inspired one another to condense the vastness of human experience into words, images and soundscapes which lead us inward to the well-spring of timeless beauty, comfort and self-knowledge.

“Eternity in an hour”, is a multi-facetted performance of songs and sonnets by Kabir, William Shakespeare and William Blake, set to contemporary folk melodies, interwoven with projected images.

Kabir Das: the mystic poet

Believed to have been born in or near Benares at the end of 14th century, Kabir grew up in a family of Muslim weavers before becoming a disciple of the Hindu ascetic Ramananda. Drawing from both Hinduism and Islam (although critical of both religions), his mystical poems are grounded in the details and earthly particulars of everyday life.

William Shakespeare’s soulful sonnets

Shakespeare's sonnets are principally about ‘love’, but also reflect on time, change and the gap between ideal and reality, and, ultimately, on the imagination that actively seeks to transcend mortality.

William Blake: ‘a prophet against empire’

Born in London in 1757, William Blake's words and images are ‘a sunrise of the soul', casting their light upon the mundane gloom of industrial modernity. As a visionary he was endowed with boundless empathy, giving voice to feeling and unequivocally denouncing those who had none; for he realised that where there is a vacuum of feeling, inhumanity is quick to take its place.

Victor Vertunni

A London-born actor, singer-songwriter and voice artist, Victor Vertunni’s warm and authoritative voice is truly unique. From balladeer poet on stage, documentary storyteller, to the voice of corporate trust, Victor’s range and versatility have made him a popular vocal artist and performer worldwide. Victor graduated in Theatre Studies at UEA (UK), to co-found the Theatre of Eternal Values, an international touring theatre ensemble.

Victor’s music compositions for William Blake’s Divine Humanity’ and its touring spin-off, Eternity in an Hour, were acclaimed on London’s West End and featured at the 2008 International Arts Festival in Helsinki, the 2010 New York International Fringe Theatre Festival and the World Council of UNESCO CLUBS in Lucca. He has performed in many parts of Europe, China, India, Turkey and USA.

The 2011 album, Songs of Innocence and of Experience, based on the poetry of English mystic, William Blake, met with enthusiastic reviews; Italy’s premier music website, Rockerilla, calling it a "masterpiece of musical invention". The song Ah! Sun-flower features in the soundtrack of the award winning motion picture The Italian Key (2011).

2019, saw the official release of the album Children of The Future Age, produced with his band Voice of the Deep,

Maxim Vertunni

Maxim has been working as stage manager, technician and video maker for TEV since the age of 16. He has also designed lighting for companies in Piacenza, Italy. He studied Set Design at NABA university in Milan and designed and built sets for several plays.

Maxim is also an accomplished bass guitar and double bass player. He has recorded two studio albums and performed in Europe and China. After working as an art teacher at the International Sahaj School in Cabella Ligure, Italy, he joined the lighting department at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan.
