"Let's treasure the moment"
We have had to get used to being very flexible and adapting to the many changes that have been thrown at us all during the last few years.
Once again I personally feel that we are still living with challenges but every year when the festive season approaches and I see the twinkle of many lights and candles, the festive decorations in people's homes and in the shop windows, I have hope!
Where there's hope, there's life. It fills us with fresh courage and makes us strong again.
I would like to thank all the members who have attended our many events. Your attendance is what motivates us and which gives us great pleasure and joy. So THANK YOU from my heart!
I would also like to thank the committee members who dedicated so much of their time and who organized the many walks and outings, lectures and also who keep our finances in order!
And, of course, the members who also helped us with new ideas - such as our Musical afternoons in the clubroom - the first will be on Wednesday, 14 December 2022, 3pm - It's a wonderful life! Thank you Bob Ronay!
I also would like to thank our club member Vivien De Bernardi for giving us a great talk on Patricia Highsmith. As most of you know Vivien is an expert on Patricia Highsmith and we were so lucky that Vivien was able to give us a presentation during this special "Highsmith" year!
We also have our "Coffee Morning Brigade" who prepare the clubroom for our traditional Saturday coffee morning and who bake the cakes and biscuits - a big THANK YOU! The Library is also open during the coffee morning and therefore "Thank you" to the "Library Brigade"!
THANK YOU also to our webmaster, for keeping our website up to date. For his many ideas and his help which he gives freely!
As you already know our secretary, Paula Merlini, will be stepping down at the end of December 2022. Paula dedicated many years to the club and we will be thanking Paula officially and from our hearts during our Annual General Meeting, which will be on Monday, 30 January 2023 at 5pm at the Sala Congressi, Muralto.
Our Vice-President, Alain Morgantini, has also decided to step down. Alain also dedicated many years to the club and it is also thanks to Alain that we received many ideas for some of our outings. We are sure that Alain will continue to liaise with us and Alain will also receive an official THANK YOU! during the AGM.
You will have noticed that we have a new style of communication. Alexandra Lantz, who will be taking over from Paula has already been hard at work creating a fresh and new look for our communications.
Alexandra will also be in touch with you!
I hope to see many of you at our next coffee morning, during the musical afternoon and at our Xmas brunch, which will be the last event of the 2022 season!
