We will leave Locarno early morning at 8.01am and arrive in Zurich at 10.28am. On arrival we will walk along the river and Stefanie will give you some interesting facts on the bygone days of Zurich. This year there is an interesting Christmas Market on the Münsterhof.

After browsing around the market we will continue to the exclusive store of "van Laack" on Storchengasse, where Mrs Rahel van Aro, Store Manager, will be waiting for us. This will be around 11:30am. www.vanlaack.com

When Heinrich van Laack founded his company in 1881 in Berlin, he had a clear goal in mind: he wanted to manufacture the best shirt in the world. His vision still stands today, as van Laack sets high quality standards based on many years of experience in the manufacturing of high- quality shirts and blouses, a method which has made the company become known as a synonym for craftsmanship, precision work, and love for detail. The products of van Laack excel by high-quality materials, the best workmanship and a distinctive and individual style. The best weavers in the world are producing selected fabrics for van Laack, made from the highest-quality yarns. The characteristic van Laack button with three holes is manufactured using the Trochacea deep-sea snail and is sewn on with a button shank, which provides the button with extra durability. If you value your own style, you can express your individuality by wearing a tailor-made shirt.  For over 130 years, these qualities have made van Laack an unmistakable address for people with a good taste and are furthermore the reason for the company’s being valued worldwide by connoisseurs and an exclusive clientele.

After this interesting visit we will walk through a part of the old town, the Augustinergasse etc. and enjoy the Christmas decorations, on our way to the Lalique Store, Talstrasse, Zurich. www.lalique.com. Lalique is a French glassmaker, founded by renowned glassmaker and jeweller René Lalique in 1888. Lalique is best known for producing glass art, including perfume bottles, vases, and hood ornaments during the early twentieth century.

This will be around 1pm. Those of you who attended the presentation in the La Palma au Lac, Muralto, know that we will enjoy an interesting time in the store and see with our own eyes what treasures are on display. We will be treated to some Champagne and nibbles by Irene Offenhammer, Store Manager, and her assistants.

After the presentation we will have time to enjoy the Bahnhofstrasse, do some Christmas shopping, enjoy a coffee and cake,  before we leave Zurich at 5:10pm and arrive in Locarno at 7:29pm.
